Making speeches talk
[...] We cannot allow democratic voices to be silenced in that way. And I am committed to ensuring "No Disconnect" in countries that struggle for democracy. We must help such activists get around arbitrary disruptions to their basic freedoms.
Agreed. Though I would like the No Disconnect policy to apply to ALL countries, including long time democracies. Democracies need open and free communication to stay democratic. Civil liberties are currently eroding in a rapid pace in many "Western" countries (USA, UK and others) in name of national security, fighting piracy and crimes against children. Every democratic country has its own responsibility keeping the internet free and open now and in the future.
