No need to be dogmatic about that principle. For instance it can't be an objective that personal data floats around without proper legal protecions or sensitive financial transaction data gets sent to other nations that dare to use it for industrial espionage. "free flow of information" amounts to a freedom to unlimited espionage without proper safeguards.
