I've never really understood why we accept huge disparities in the way different creative acts are rewarded. Create a sculpture and you can sell it once; spend a couple of hours in a studio recording 'Summer Holiday' and you have an income for life!

@Neil Sutherland: The fact that you do not understand something is not very relevant to the status quo. I in my turn do not understand why Neelie Kroes earns more money than I do, while essentially we both work just as hard and just as many hours.
